Below is a quick approximate method to calculate the maximum stress in ETFE film in a cushion of specific width. This is based on Bubble Inflation Test(bursting test). This is useful for preliminary decision on the cushion maximum width/ or ETFE film thickness at a given wind pressure for uniformly arched or rectangular cushions, note that for precise final design you must carry out FE analysis using a recognized method.
